Q: What is your opinion of smokers?

A: I honestly don't understand how someone can choose to start doing that. I mean, sure some people will do just about anything imaginable, but such a large proportion of society? I genuinely fail to understand it. It's shocking that that many people could be that moronic and non-independently thinking. It's horrible for your health, you can get lung cancer, emphysema, you'll probably die early, it's a huge drain on your budget, you'll be desperate for a fix every working hour, and once you start you'll be addicted probably for life. Even if you're not addicted for life, it'll be a pain in the arse and take a lot of will power to stop. Everybody knows this, or at least everybody should know it. It's not a secret. It's obvious as the sky.

So how can so many people every want to take that first puff? I mean I guess it's because most people just do whatever everybody else does, regardless of how irrational it is, but I'm truly confounded by how much like this most people must be in order for smoking to be such a huge thing. It just doesn't fit in with my view of what a normal person is, normally having some semblance of reason and forethought.

It's one of those things that make me feel dismayed by the fact that I have to live on a planet where people are the way they are..

I also feel like smokers are corrupted and bitter in a way. Like they don't give a shit about anything, not themselves, not other people. That's the only way they could choose to have such a filthy and obnoxious habit. But it's dark and harsh, I guess that's what makes it "cool" and grown-up. People in this world adore the darkness...
